Egg prices in Ukraine are rising

Traditionally, egg prices rise in Ukraine in October and November due to seasonal factors. In November 2022, the price for a dozen eggs reached 65 hryvnias. Last month, eggs cost about 61 hryvnias per dozen. First Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food Taras Vysotskyi told about this, Suspilne reports. According to him, seasonal changes are explained by a decrease in the productivity of chickens due to the cold weather. This affects not only households, but also industrial production. There is also a renewal of the chicken population, which is traditionally accompanied by a decrease in production. As Vysotskyi added, in October of this year egg production was 5% less than last year. Another important factor is the increase in feed prices, which is related to the recovery of grain prices after several years of low indicators caused, among other things, by the blockade of sea routes.
