In the 2023/24 season, Poland significantly increased its import of tangerines from Egypt, reaching a record 6.8 thousand tons, more than double the previous season's imports. This surge has elevated Egypt to the sixth position among Poland's tangerine suppliers, up from 10-12th place in recent years. Although Spain remains the top supplier, its market share has declined, allowing countries like Egypt, Turkey, Italy, and Greece to expand their presence. Egypt's strategy of diversifying its export markets is evident, with Poland being a key focus due to its rising demand for fruits and vegetables. An upcoming event in Warsaw aims to foster negotiations between Eastern European supermarket chains and suppliers from Egypt and Morocco.
