Egypt's exports of medicinal and aromatic plants will reach $330 million in 2023

He explained during a session at the “ProPak MENA” and “Fi Africa” exhibitions for food industries, that it is targeted to reach the value of exports of medicinal and aromatic plants to $400 million in 2024. Egypt's exports of medicinal and aromatic plants represent 0.5% of the volume of international trade, and the target is 10%, according to Abdel Jalil. He pointed out that Egypt occupies first place in exporting basil and perfume, and second place in exporting jasmine, marjoram, and cumin oil. According to Abdel Jalil, Egypt ranks fifth in plants used in manufacturing medicines, spices, and perfumes, and ranks eighth in the production of anise, fennel, and coriander.
