Jeju Special Self-Governing Province announced that it is pushing forward the "Next-Generation Economic Orchard Conversion Support Project" to improve the competitiveness of citrus fruit quality by converting aging and densely planted citrus orchards into economic orchards. This project adds a rootstock grafting business to the existing variety renewal business and is targeted at citrus-growing households that have been excluded from FTA fund support. Full-time farmers with no track record of commercial shipments and part-time farmers with an income from non-agricultural sources of 37 million won or more can apply. The support criteria require a minimum of 1,000 square meters per farm, with no area restrictions for open-field citrus and a limit of 1 hectare for greenhouse citrus. The support unit price is 38.16 million won per 0.5 hectare for rootstock grafting, 43.44 million won per 0.5 hectare for variety renewal, and 60% of the total project cost is supported.
