"Enjoy Clean Forest Produce" Forest Food Festival Held at Gwanghwamun, Seoul on 16th-17th

(Daejeon=Yonhap News) Reporter Lee Eun-pa = The Korea Forest Service and Korea Forestry Promotion Agency announced on the 15th that they will hold the '2025 Our Forest Food Festival' at the Jukjo Plaza in Gwanghwamun Square in Seoul on the 16th and 17th.

At this festival, a direct trading market will be operated where people can buy items like durup, mountain herbs, and shiitake mushrooms at low prices. Events that anyone can easily participate in, such as free companion plant sharing, bite-sized food offerings, and a stamp tour, will also be prepared.

A 'Forest Fire Victim Support Booth' will also be installed and operated. The booth's proceeds will be used to help forestry workers return from the large-scale forest fires in the Yeongnam region at the end of March.

On the 16th at 2 PM, a business agreement ceremony will be held between the Korea Forest Service, National Forestry Cooperative Federation, Korea Forestry Promotion Agency, Shinsegae Food, and LSC Food to activate forest food consumption.

These organizations and companies plan to establish a cooperative system to promote domestic forest food consumption, utilize and promote the national integrated brand 'Forest Food', and collaborate on product development and sales channel securing.

Forest Service Commissioner Lim Sang-seop said, "Through this festival, we hope to widely promote the excellence of our forest foods and provide significant help to forestry workers who suffered from the large-scale forest fires at the end of March."
