The European Union's soft wheat exports have decreased by 29% in the 2024/25 season compared to the previous year, reaching 6.64 million metric tons by October 13. Barley exports also saw a decrease of 37% compared to the same period in the previous year. Romania is the leading soft wheat exporter to the EU, followed by Lithuania, Latvia, Germany, Bulgaria, and France. However, the European Commission highlighted incomplete export data from Italy, France, Bulgaria, and Ireland.
