A new project titled 'Artolio' has been launched with an investment of 2.9 million euros, with 2.6 million euros funded by the EU and the remaining 10% from co-financing projects. Coordinated by an Israeli agricultural research organization, the project involves nine partner organizations from Cyprus, France, Greece, Israel, Jordan, Palestine, and Spain. The goal of the project is to enhance the quality of olive production and increase olive yield by at least 200 percent through innovative development measures. The project also emphasizes process improvement, sustainability, energy efficiency, and high-quality olive oil, with a focus on reducing CO2 emissions. The project is designed to benefit olive farmers with parcels less than 3 hectares and local consumers by providing higher quality olive oil, thereby boosting the local economy and providing the agricultural sector with marketing tools.
