Euroreport with important recommendations for healthy pig farming

The Center for Risk Assessment in the Food Chain presents a scientific opinion of the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) on the topic of healthy pig farming on farms. The text was developed by zootechnician Dr. Nadezhda Lukanova from the NSA. For the readers of sinor.bg, we publish abbreviated recommendations, analyzing all categories of pigs: young sows at first insemination, dry sows, sow mothers, lactating sows (nursing), suckling piglets, weaned piglets, fattening pigs, and boars. The most important farming systems used in Europe are described, and measures to prevent or correct hazards and/or mitigate the consequences for animal welfare are recommended.
