Even in Wartime, Ukraine Can Provide Itself with Meat

Even in wartime conditions, Ukraine has sufficient production capacities to meet domestic demand for meat. UNIAN reports. Experts note that over the past 10 years, the level of self-sufficiency in the domestic pork market has not dropped below 86%, and since 2022, despite production cuts, it has not been lower than 90%. Although this year's external pork imports for the first 6 months are three times larger than the entire previous year, the share of imported pork in the total market capacity is still less than 5%. According to specialists, the demand of Ukrainian consumers is mainly satisfied by national producers.
