Even without access, delegation goes to Geneva for COP 11

A delegation of parliamentarians and representatives from the executive branch of municipalities that produce tobacco, as well as from entities in the production chain of the Southern Region, are heading to Switzerland on Saturday, November 15, to attend the 11th Conference of the Parties (COP 11) of the Framework Convention on Tobacco Control (FCTC), which takes place from November 17 to 22 in Geneva. Even without access to the debates, the group will be on site to ensure that the official Brazilian delegation does not create obstacles to the tobacco production already established in the country and fulfills the interpretative declaration signed by the federal government when Brazil joined the Framework Convention on Tobacco Control (FCTC). “We are taking with us the voice of 533,000 people involved in this activity in the countryside and another 44,000 in the industries.
