Expensive Dutch potatoes make fries more expensive

A dry summer in Germany, Belgium, and France has led to mediocre harvests, particularly in potatoes. Despite similar weather conditions in the Netherlands, the country managed to have a good potato harvest. This has led to an increased demand for Dutch potatoes in neighboring countries. The cost of Dutch potatoes made into fries has doubled in the past year and a half, leading to significant price increases.
