Expert: The price of Ukrainian honey does not cover the costs of beekeepers

So says the owner of the family apiary, beekeeper Marian Dityuk, who keeps 240 bee colonies, writes DailyLviv. He noted that in neighboring Poland honey is three times more expensive and this should be its price in Ukraine. “Good, clean honey is a big expense, as the bees require proper care. In our farm, we produce only natural, environmentally friendly honey. But I see over 50% of counterfeit products on the market. And the low price should alert the buyer, ”he explained. The price of honey can be made cheaper if the state subsidizes this industry, says the farmer. But now the state reimburses a small beekeeper farmer 200 UAH for one bee colony.
