[Agricultural, Fisheries and Livestock Newspaper=Reporter Park Yu-shin] A meeting to explore technological cooperation plans for the future growth and industrialization of the agricultural, forestry, and fisheries industries between South Korea and Japan is garnering attention. The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs held the '54th South Korea-Japan Agricultural, Forestry and Fisheries Technology Cooperation Committee' in Jeju from the 17th to the 19th, discussing ways to strengthen research and development (R&D) cooperation in the agricultural, forestry, and fisheries sectors between the two countries and to promote joint research in future new technology fields. The South Korea-Japan Agricultural, Forestry and Fisheries Technology Cooperation Committee was established in 1968 based on an agreement from the second regular South Korea-Japan ministerial meeting, serving as a regular cooperation channel between the two countries. It is held alternately in South Korea and Japan each year to exchange technological information and to activate research cooperation in the agriculture, forestry, and fisheries sectors.
