In 2020, Jordan ranked third as a importer of Egyptian food industry products, with the trade reaching $170 million. The imports included cheeses, edible oils, biscuits, soup and broth, chocolate, and potatoes. Despite the COVID-19 pandemic impacting the Jordanian market by retreating about 40% from the pre-Corona period, there is potential for growth in Egyptian exports. The Jordanian Foodstuff Syndicate noted that the Jordanian market consists of 40,000 commercial establishments, with the food sector being the largest. The pandemic has not allowed the import of rice from Egypt. The main imports from Egypt are rice, sugar, oils, milk, and cheeses.
