The harvest season for Izmir Seferihisar's famous satsuma mandarin has begun, with exports expected to start on October 27. The satsuma mandarin, known for its high vitamin C content and unique taste, brought in 163 million dollars in foreign currency to Turkey in 2020. The Aegean Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Exporters' Association aims to reach 500 million dollars in exports this year, despite a decrease in yield for 2021. Satsuma tangerines were exported to 49 countries in 2020, primarily to the Russian Federation, Ukraine, and Serbia.
