Russian exports to Brazil have seen a significant increase in the first half of 2021, with a 5.6-fold increase in agricultural product exports amounting to $54.4 million. The rise is primarily due to the supply of flour and cereal industry products, especially unroasted malt, which enjoyed a customs duty of zero instead of the usual 14% until the quota was reached. Other notable increases include wheat gluten, finished products from cereals, flour, starch or milk, flour confectionery products, active other yeast, sugar and confectionery products, and other fish products. However, there was a decrease in the supply of alcoholic and non-alcoholic products, and for the first time, tobacco products were exported to Brazil. This has propelled Russia to the 19th place among agricultural product exporters to Brazil, up from 37th place last year.
