The Vietnam Fruit and Vegetable Association reports a 79% increase in exports in June 2023 compared to the same period in 2022, with over 723 million USD in revenue. The first half of the year saw nearly 2.8 billion USD in fruit and vegetable exports, which is 90% of the total from the previous year. China is the largest market, accounting for nearly 63.5% of the share. With a projected target of 4 billion USD for the second half of the year, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development emphasizes the need for modern processing technology, quality assurance, and diversification of agricultural products. The increase in exports is attributed to the quality and competitiveness of Vietnamese goods, especially durians, and the favorable market in China.
