In the first two months of 2023, Ukraine saw a significant increase in live cattle exports, with volumes reaching 4.2 thousand tons, a 3.8-fold increase compared to the same period last year. The export value for this period amounted to $6.8 million, a 2.8-fold increase year-over-year. The main importers were Egypt, Lebanon, and Jordan, accounting for 55%, 33.6%, and 11.3% of the total exports, respectively. Notably, the agricultural firm Dovzhenka received 1,500 head of breeding cattle at the beginning of the year. Additionally, Ukraine experienced a decrease in its cattle population by 15.6% in the January-February timeframe.
