In the first two months of 2021, the export of oilseeds and fruits from the Primorye region in Russia saw a significant increase of 18.9 times, reaching $173.7 million. This is due to a 16.4-fold increase in volume, totaling 511.3 thousand tons, which is 54% of the total exports from the Far Eastern Federal District. The majority of these exports, 99.7%, were sent to China, primarily soybeans, due to a 30% export duty imposed by the Russian government from February 1 to June 30, 2021. Other exports included cereals, fish, crustaceans, molluscs, animal or vegetable oils, and other products, making up 68.9% of the total agricultural exports from the Primorsky Territory as of February 21.
