Last week, export prices for Russian wheat decreased, writes Reuters. The reason was the fall in global currency exchange rates, the strengthening of the ruble, and a slight weakening of demand from importers. Moreover, adverse weather conditions in ports during the first 10 days of April limited shipment volumes. Thus, according to the monitoring by the Institute for Agricultural Market Studies (IKAR), the price of Russian wheat (12.5% protein, FOB Black Sea) at the end of last week with delivery in May was $236/t. The analytical center "SovEcon" says that prices decreased from $238-240/t a week earlier to $237-239/t. "Interest from Black Sea importers has declined, buyers from Egypt and Turkey point to an approaching local harvest," said SovEcon's head Andrei Sizov (quote from Reuters).
