In 2022, Ukraine's agro-industrial complex export revenue saw a 16% decrease, amounting to approximately 23.3 billion USD, largely due to the potential attack on Ukraine by Russia leading to increased export shipments in the early months of the year. The war also brought about a significant decrease in the processing of sunflower seeds. Despite these challenges, agricultural products became an increasingly significant share of export earnings, reaching 68% in November 2022. The top five export earnings were contributed by corn, sunflower oil, wheat, rapeseed, and sunflower seeds. Ukraine also emerged as one of the top five suppliers of organic products to the EU, with a 6.6% share of the total volume of imports in 2021.
