In September 2025, the export volume of unprocessed ginger from our country was approximately 41.8 thousand tons, with a year-on-year increase of nearly 50%, but the export unit price simultaneously dropped to 7,548 yuan/ton, marking a new low in nearly 34 months. Despite the short-term increase in exports in September, the underlying pressures in the industry could not be concealed. From January to September 2025, the total export volume of unprocessed ginger from our country was 359.2 thousand tons, still down 3.35% year-on-year. The reasons for the significant increase in export volume in September were twofold: first, the expansion of domestic ginger planting in 2023 led to a sustained high yield in 2024, continuing the oversupply situation, forcing enterprises to adopt a low-price strategy to capture the overseas market; second, some overseas buyers took advantage of the low domestic prices to restock, temporarily amplifying export demand.
