Between January and July of 2021, fresh fruit exports experienced a 2% increase in value, reaching US $ 3,776 million FOB, despite a 1% decrease in volume to 1.9 million tonnes. The majority of the export value was concentrated in cherry, table grapes, blueberries, and apples, with China, the US, and the Netherlands being the main destinations. Additionally, walnuts and shelled hazelnuts were notable exports. Shipsments of frozen fruit, especially strawberries and blueberries, increased by 16%, and juice exports saw a 72% value increase. Overall, fruit exports amounted to 2.35 million tons and US $ 4,893 million FOB, showing a slight decrease in volume but a significant rise in value.
