The Istanbul Chamber of Commerce (İİB) and various exporters' associations have reported a significant increase in exports in the first five months of the year, despite the challenges of the pandemic. İİB's exports reached 249 million dollars to Iraq, making it the highest-value destination, with the USA, Norway, Germany, and the UK also notable recipients. The products exported included furniture, paper and forest products, aquaculture, animal products, grains, pulses, oilseeds, and ships and yachts. The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) reports that its member unions saw increases in exports, with the Istanbul Furniture, Paper and Forest Products Exporters' Association leading the way with an increase of 31 percent. Haluk Okutur, Chairman of İHBİR, is optimistic about the future and the continued success of these exports, highlighting the contributions of national participation fairs, Ur-Ge projects, and digital platforms.
