A report by ProChile, an institution of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Chile, has found that Chilean wine and food exports saw a significant increase in 2020. Bottled wine exports rose by 24% to US $ 185 million, and hazelnut sales increased by 690% from US $ 1.32 million to US $ 10.43 million. Other products that saw a surge in exports include dried plums, fresh apples, fresh kiwi, onions, garlic, and pork meat, despite the Covid-19 pandemic. ProChile credits the success to virtual meetings between producers and the Brazilian consumer market.
