The National Union of Milk Producers in Russia, Soyuzmoloko, predicts a 20% increase in milk and dairy exports in 2021, driven by demand in CIS countries and China. Despite rising production costs, high world market prices and recovering demand, particularly in China, make up for it. However, an 18% increase in milk costs last year and a significant rise in protein feeds, energy carriers, mineral fertilizers, fuels, and lubricants have led to decreasing profitability for enterprises. Some regions have seen a slowdown in milk production growth and are either reducing livestock numbers or changing rations to maintain profitability.
