Exports of Ukrainian sunflower oil exceeded 4.4 million tons

Since the beginning of the 2023/24 season (September-April), Ukraine has sold over 4.4 million tons of sunflower oil to foreign markets, which is 16% higher than the level in the same period of the last agricultural year, according to APK-Inform data. According to agency analysts, the current export volume is the second largest on record: more oil was shipped only in September-April 2019/20 MY (4.49 million tons). “The increased demand for these products from key global importers was facilitated by a more attractive price for sunflower oil compared to other oils, as a result of which Ukrainian factories actively increased sunflower processing,” experts explained.
