Morocco: Extending the fishing ban in southern Sidi Ghazi, Boujdour

Tan Tan: Mohamed Slimani The Ministry of Agriculture, Maritime Fisheries, Rural Development, Water and Forests - Marine Fisheries Sector issued a ministerial decision extending the ban on trawling in a marine area defined in the South Sidi Ghazi area in Boujdour Province, due to the concentration of juvenile octopus. Based on the data, it was decided, based on decision No. 07/24 dated August 28, to extend the decision to ban fishing in this area until September 15, after the end of this ban in the same marine area was set for August 31. The reason for the ban on fishing in this marine area is due to the appearance of juvenile octopus in the southern trap, which imposes a ban on fishing in accordance with the directions of the Halieutis Plan calling for the preservation of fish resources and their sustainable exploitation.
