Farmers in the Rangpur agriculture region have cultivated ginger on more land than the previous season, leading to expectations of a bumper output in the current Kharif-1 season. They have cultivated ginger on 3,541 hectares of land, surpassing the fixed farming target of 3,455 hectares, and have received support from the government in the form of motivational activities, training, technology, and easy-term agriculture loans. The government has also distributed quality seeds to farmers and is encouraging the cultivation of other spicy crops. In the last season, ginger fetched a lucrative price in the local markets, inspiring farmers to cultivate more.
