During the National Farmers’ Day 2024 awards ceremony in Accra, Ghana, President Nana Akufo-Addo announced a 3.3% increase in the cocoa producer price to support farmers, raising it from GH₵3,000 to GH₵3,100 per 64kg bag. The event, part of the Agrifest Ghana 2024, recognized outstanding farmers, including Alex Kwame as National Best Cocoa Farmer and Solomon Tohola as National Most Promising Young Cocoa Farmer. Yaa Adjeley was awarded National Most Enterprising Female Cocoa Farmer, and Nana Owusu Achiaw Brempong was named Overall National Best Farmer, receiving one million Ghana cedis. The ceremony, rescheduled to November 8, 2024, due to upcoming elections, emphasized building climate-resilient agriculture for sustainable food security.
