Russian agricultural producers are expected to increase the sowing area for niche crops such as coriander, soybeans, and peas due to the export duty on wheat and other grains, according to Andrey Dalnov, head of the Rosselkhozbank Center for Industry Expertise. In 2020, coriander crops grew by over 30%, and its exports increased by more than 50% in the first seven months of 2021. Soybean crops have also seen a significant increase, occupying nearly 3.8% of all crops planted in 2021. Peas are expected to provide high profitability in 2021, as Canadian export prices have increased due to a drought. Additionally, the sowing area for industrial hemp has grown by 23% in 2021, with plans for deep processing worth $2 billion in the Kurgan region.
