The Federal Antimonopoly Service of Russia has proposed a draft government decree to extend agreements with producers and retail chains aiming to stabilize prices for sugar and sunflower oil until June 1, 2021, and October 1, 2021, respectively. This step is taken to prevent an unjustified increase in prices for these commodities, following instructions from the Russian government to work out extensions of business agreements on sugar and butter prices. Initially set in December 2020, these agreements limit the maximum selling price for sunflower oil and sugar, and it is planned to subsidize the producers of butter and sugar to maintain price stability.
