KATHMANDU, April 15: Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) commitment in Nepal has reached nearly Rs 41.79 billion in the first nine months of the current fiscal year, according to the Department of Industry (DoI). The DoI said that investment commitments were made for 615 projects during the period from Shrawan to Chaitra (mid-July to mid-April) , including 599 small-scale, 8 medium-scale, and 8 large-scale projects. In Chaitra (mid-March to mid-April) alone, 61 small industries received investment commitments worth Rs 112.92 million, which are expected to generate 640 jobs. Take holistic measures to boost FDI in Nepal Of the total projects in nine months, 346 belong to the information technology sector, attracting investment commitments of Rs 1.45 billion, accounting for 58 percent of all projects.
