Fepex: The EU-Morocco agreement is the "paradigm of unfair competition" towards fruit and vegetable producers.

The EU Association Agreement with Morocco is "a paradigm of unfair competition" towards EU fruit and vegetable producers in the labor, health, and environmental fields, which has already caused serious damage to the Spanish sector, displacing it as the EU's first tomato supplier, damages that will increase with the modification of the Agreement approved in October. This was stated by the advisor of the Spanish Federation of Fruit, Vegetable, Flower, and Live Plant Producers-Exporters (Fepex), Jose María Pozancos, at a round table held at the European Parliament. In the labor field, the minimum wage costs for employers in Spain are 9.74 euros per hour worked while in Morocco it is 0.98 euros.
