The Italian food giant Ferrero announced on Friday the marketing in April, in the United States and Canada, of a special version of its Nutella spread with the addition of peanuts for the North American market. The new Nutella Peanut has been "designed to combine the distinctive taste of peanut, familiar to millions of North American consumers" who enjoy peanut butter, with the texture of Nutella, states a press release from the Ferrero group. "The countdown to April has officially begun," concludes the press release which also announces the launch of an ice cream cone with a Nutella flavor. Ferrero continues its expansion in this market after having purchased in July 2025 the American group WK Kellogg, a specialist in breakfast cereals (Corn Flakes, Froot Loops, Rice Krispies, All-Bran, etc.).
