The Spanish countryside has already registered 1,402,406 hectares considered as a loss due to climatic events such as hailstorms, frosts, or droughts in the first nine months of 2025; a surface area 8% smaller than a year ago, although the expected indemnities rise by 18%, up to 665 million euros. This is evident from the comparison of the report of the agricultural insurance consortium Agroseguro, consulted by Efeagro, as of September 30, 2025. By that time, 1,176,152 officially reported losses had been notified, a number that represents a 2.3% decrease compared to the same period last year. Once again, the most affected crops are fruit trees, herbaceous plants, wine grapes, citrus fruits, and vegetables, with a total of 484.88 million euros in the first nine months of the year.
