By Anna Scabello São Paulo, 07/23/2025 - The Weekly Consumer Price Index (IPC-S) accelerated its upward pace to 0.31% in the third four-week period of July, after an increase of 0.25% in the previous period. The information was recently released by the Getulio Vargas Foundation (FGV). With this result, the IPC-S now accumulates an increase of 3.99% in the last 12 months and 3% in 2025. There was an acceleration in four of the eight groups that make up the IPC-S from the second to the third four-week period of July: Housing (0.62% to 0.77%), Miscellaneous Expenses (0.47% to 0.80%), Health and Personal Care (0.17% to 0.30%), and Food (0.01% to 0.05%). On the other hand, only Education, Reading, and Recreation lost momentum (0.93% to 0.86%), while Clothing (0.01% to -0.30%), Communication (0.09% to -0.05%), and Transportation (-0.14% to -0.15%) registered a decline.
