The Logistical Commission of the Soybean & Corn Producers Association of Mato Grosso (Aprosoja/MT) has visited the construction site of Brazil's FICO Railroad, a new railway aimed at linking the North-South railway network with the East-West and Midwest regions of the country. The 2,150-kilometer railway, expected to be completed in 2028, will reduce freight rates by at least 25%. Construction is expected to reach Mato Grosso in 2025, with the first major city on the railroad being Agua Boa. The railroad will have 20 bridges, including a 1.7-kilometer span over the Araguaia River. Once completed, grain could be directed to ports on the North, East, and Soutastern coasts.
