Field crops: Upward sowing in barley, downward in pea and beet in Russia

The statistical service of the Ministry of Agriculture (Agreste) published its first estimates of spring sowing on April 12, showing an increase in barley, a drop in protein crops and beets, stability in potatoes. All types combined, "barley surfaces increased by 4.3% over one year, reaching 1.8 Mha in 2022: the increase concerns both spring barley (+4.1%) and winter barley (+4.4%).
