Peru's fig exports increased by 15% in volume but decreased by 10% in value from January to September 2023. The decline in value was mainly due to lower purchases from the United Kingdom, causing Peru to fall from its position as the main destination for fresh figs. The Netherlands took the top spot as it purchased 187 tons of figs worth US$900,000, while the United States followed closely behind, buying 186 tons for US$500,000.
