A young developer from Martinique has created a real-time price comparison website, Kiprix, to document the significant price disparities between the island and mainland France. The website has already referenced nearly 8,500 products, revealing that food prices in Martinique are approximately 40% higher than in France, with examples like grated cheese costing 13 euros and free-range chicken 21 euros in Martinique, compared to lower prices in France. While some price differences are attributed to errors, many reflect the high cost of living in Martinique. Kiprix is planning to expand its reach to other overseas territories and retail chains, aiming to provide accurate price information to users.
