The Sakhalin Region's fishing enterprises have been recommended to catch 199.86 tons of Japanese sea bream in the South Kuril zone this year by Rosrybolovstvo. This recommendation is a decrease from the 300 kilograms less catch advised last year, which was not achieved. Japanese sea bream is a valuable commercial fish, with hunting usually taking place in Kamchatka, the Aleutian Islands, and the Gulf of Alaska in February and March.
