Peru's Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development reports a significant increase in hydrobiological resource landings for November 2022, totaling 104,000 metric tons, a 15.7% increase compared to November 2021. This growth is primarily driven by an 18.2% rise in fish caught for direct human consumption, with bonito, squid, shrimp, and hake contributing to this upward trend. However, there was a 12.7% decrease in anchovy landed for indirect human consumption due to the reproductive closure in the north-central zone and the absence of landings by the CHI fishing fleet in the south. This report indicates continued growth in fishing activities, with positive impacts on the canning, frozen, and fishmeal industries.
