Provisional figures from the Flemish aggregate demand show an increase in the acreage for consumption potatoes in Flanders, with a 4.2% rise to 51,708 ha. This is largely due to increased contract prices and better prices on the free market. The seed potato area has been divided into certified seed and farm seed, resulting in a 2% increase in production. However, there has been a decrease in the acreage of various vegetables, with cauliflower, Brussels sprouts, carrots, onions, peas and beans all seeing a decrease of between 15 to 30%.
