FMC India has partnered with Govind Ballabh Pant University of Agriculture and Technology to launch Project MadhuShakti, a three-year initiative aimed at enhancing the income of rural women in Uttarakhand through beekeeping. Set in a region teeming with natural herbs and flora ideal for honey production and suffering from high poverty rates, the project will provide training to women in beekeeping entrepreneurship, with the university's Honey Bee Research and Training Centre purchasing the harvest. Not only will this project improve the living standards of rural women by generating sustainable income, but it also aims to boost pollinator populations and biodiversity in Uttarakhand, potentially increasing honey production in the state.
