In October, Russia saw a 0.8% increase in food prices, accumulating a 4.1% rise over the first ten months of the year. The European Union also experienced a slight 0.3% rise in food prices month-over-month, with Hungary witnessing the most significant increase (5.3%). Conversely, Lithuania reported a decrease in food prices by 1.1%.
Fruit and vegetable prices in the EU witnessed notable fluctuations, with the Czech Republic and Latvia experiencing the highest increases. Meanwhile, Russia witnessed a 3.7% surge in the prices of sugar, jam, honey, chocolate, and sweets, alongside a 2.5% increase in oils and fats. However, fruit prices in Russia fell by 1.8%, in contrast to the EU's 1.0% rise. Meat and meat product prices in Russia marginally increased by 0.4%, whereas in the EU, they decreased by 0.1%.
