[Korean Farmers' News Agency, Reporter Kang Jae-nam] Jeju City announced that it will implement the "2025 Early Mandarin Quality Inspection System" for the month of December. The quality inspection system is being implemented to block the market circulation of early harvested mandarins such as Hallabong and Cheonhye-hyang, which are not in season, and to create a foundation for the distribution of high-quality mandarins. The applicants are farms or distributors planning to harvest and distribute Hallabong and Cheonhye-hyang before January 1, 2026, who must apply for quality inspection at least five days before the expected harvest date. The mandarin quality inspection involves citrus distribution guidance inspectors and others directly visiting the applicant orchards to sample 10 baskets of mandarins, which are then sent to inspection agencies for examination.
