The Altai region has seen significant activity in agricultural exports from January to May, with a total value of USD 138.6 million. The exports were dominated by oilseeds, fruits, cereals, and fats and oils. Notably, these exports included over 10 thousand tons of rapeseed oil, which fetched around USD 12.8 million, making China its primary consumer. Other vegetable oils like sunflower and linseed oil also found demand in markets such as Afghanistan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Mongolia, Kazakhstan, Belarus, and Germany. Despite rapeseed oil accounting for only 3.5% of Russia's total animal and vegetable fat exports, and sunflower oil 0.45%, Altai's production plays a significant role in meeting domestic and international demand.
