The American Chamber of Commerce for Brazil (Amcham) understands that reciprocity measures would tend to aggravate the bilateral conflict and reduce the space for negotiations, increasing uncertainties for businesses. The statement responds to a request from (Grupo Estado's real-time news system) to comment on President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva's decision to authorize the Itamaraty to study the feasibility of applying the Reciprocity Law - equivalent to the American Section 301 - against the United States.
