The Bayavşar District of Beyşehir, Konya's renowned agricultural region, has found an additional source of income through the production of sesame tahini and sesame seeds. This activity, carried out by 70% of the neighborhood's population, allows them to generate income during the fallow periods of their fields. The sesame produced is not only consumed locally but also finds its way to tahini producers, who have started making the product themselves. The cultivation area for sesame in Bayavşar increases annually, with the product being particularly popular in the Bozkır region.
